GENERAL INFORMATION
492P is a 5 mil porous film produced from Ultra High Molecular Weight (UHMW) polyethylene . The process yields a highly uniform pore structure in the x, y and z directions. The film has been rendered Hydrophilic by plasma treatment. 492P is an open cell, tortuous path structure wirth a void volume of 25 to 35%. Application areas would include filtration, diagnostics, wicks and support media for finer membrane structures where porosity, chemical inertness and mechanical strength are important.
