"We were drilling, welding and using an epoxy to seal our ink cartridges. Leaking cartridges forced us to make design changes. We were prepared to pay $30,000 for an injection mold and die to produce a pre-drilled plastic cap. However, Budnick stepped in and quickly designed, proto-typed and produced an adhesive coated polyester cover. They laser-cut the cover to our desired outer dimension and inner pattern. Budnick's cover looked just like the rest of our unit, conformed neatly to our cartridge, required no tooling cost and reduced rejection rates 40%. In addition, we eliminated R & D time, welding, drilling and waiting for epoxy to cure. More importantly, laser-cut parts will not require any tooling costs when future design changes come along and they can be automatically applied."

"We make dispensers for tickets. One of the problems we were having was that the dispensers would rub off the scratch box covering as the ticket was being dispensed. In order to alleviate this, Budnick worked with me to design a die-cut part that prevented the ticket from being scratched. In addition, they were able to reverse print dispensing instructions onto a clear polyester material and laminate it directly to this piece. Eliminating the manual process of applying the extra label saved us $12,000 per year of production time."
